En primer lugar, me gustaría que me hablaras sobre Senda Sangrienta y su realización.

Senda Sangrienta comenzó un poco por accidente. Yo tengo un manuscrito, que fue leído por un puñado de autoras publicadas que me dijeron que tenía mucho potencial, pero ninguna editorial me respondió jamás para editarla.

Entonces una autora, que tiene muchos seguidores me dijo que las editoriales solo te editan cuando tenés muchos seguidores. Un poco triste, pero en lugar de desanimarme me puse a pensar como podría hacer para ganar seguidores. Hablar de libros en Instagram o YouTube no me atraían, así que pensé en publicar en sitios juveniles y al ver las categorías vi la de vampiros y pensé que podía escribir una historia de vampiros.

En Senda Sangrienta trabajas con el arquetipo del vampiro, ¿qué tipo de impronta tomaste para realizar una historia sin caer en las obviedades?

Pensé en hacer un mundo de vampiros que me divirtiera a mí. Tomé elementos de todo libro, serie, película, comic, manga y animé de vampiros que leí en mi vida y decidí meterlo todo en la licuadora. Lo ideal era tener distintos grupos de vampiros, como que sean una sociedad oculta dentro de nuestra sociedad entonces eso me permitió armarme este mundo nocturno en el cual tengo libertad de poner muchas cosas que me gustan a mí. Teniendo en cuenta que creo que el último BestSellers de vampiros fue Crepúsculo, creo que tenía mucho por ganar al traer vampiros un poco más “novela negra” a la mesa literaria.

Hablando de terror urbano, ¿qué es lo que más terror puede generar vivir o visitar una gran ciudad?

La gente. Mientras más uno crece más miedo o desconfianza le tiene a la gente. La otra vez, nada que ver a tu pregunta visité un campo y pensaba que era un lugar con mucha paz y mientras caminaba por ahí pensaba, acá me cruzo con un loquito que tiene un arma y es matar o morir. Pero siempre la maldad, el terror, es el humano. El primer cuento que hice era de un brujo que atormentaba a un hombre que tenía a un hijo preso por violar y matar a una adolescente. El brujo castiga al padre porque este sobornando a la justicia había logrado que liberen al hijo. El cuento termina con el padre suicidándose sin terminar de pagarle a la policía y los policías dejando que al hijo de este hombre lo maten los presos. Pero como siempre, el terror no estaba en el brujo, sino en el padre y ese hijo.

¿Cuáles son tus planes a futuro? ¿En qué tipo de proyectos estás trabajando?

Actualmente tengo un cafecito (cafecito.app/hernanfmontenegro) donde público las crónicas de un personaje conectado al ocultismo. El plan es que cada cafecito cuesta 50$ y al llegar a 50 cafecitos libero una nueva historia del personaje.

Estoy trabajando en la reedición de Senda Sangrienta con unos ligeros cambios y estoy terminando de editar la continuación de Senda Sangrienta. El plan es tener la novela publicada en físico para fin de año.

También estoy intentando conseguir una editorial que publique mi primera novela que trata sobre Lucifer. 

Y también intento que Senda Sangrienta siga vendiendo ejemplares y consiguiendo lectores, es un trabajo enorme difundirse en pocas de algoritmos, pero intento no bajar los brazos, porque siento que lo que hago puede llegar a tener sus lectores que lo disfruten, tanto como yo disfruto escribirlas.
